To wake your Besanna scanner before performing a scan, hold the scanner in the palm of your hand making sure that the sensors are in contact with your skin for a minimum of 2 seconds.
The scanner has been programmed with battery savings in mind and intelligently checks for skin contact every few seconds. Once skin contact is detected, the scanner will wake only after contact is maintained for an additional 2 seconds. This is to avoid unintentional waking of the scanner when in a bag or purse.
If for some reason your scanner will not wake up after being in contact with skin for a minimum of 5 seconds, there are two possible reasons: 1) the skin may be too dry for the sensors to detect contact, or 2) the battery needs to be charged.
In the case of not detecting skin contact, a simple hand washing to moisten the skin should do the trick. We do not recommend using lotions to moisten the skin as this could affect the outcome of the scan.
If you are not able to get good contact with a pet's skin, try moving the scanner to an area of your pet with less fur/hair--like under the belly--or try using a small amount of the included contact gel.
